where friendships roll the dice.
A social club for board game people in the SF Bay Area. Nine questions learn how you play; at Grooviq-hosted nights, a compatible table of 4–6 does the rest — the same table meeting again and again, at real venues, until they're your friends.

Home. Work.
Third spaces — the cafés, parks and game shops where friendship used to just happen — are quietly disappearing. So we're building a new one. It runs on cardboard, dice, and the small brave act of sitting down with new people.
Real friendships come from shared experiences, not swipes or feeds. A board game is the oldest icebreaker there is: turns to take, rules to bend, and something to laugh about before you've even swapped names.

Two minutes. The assessment learns your gaming style — competitive or cozy, talker or tactician, rules lawyer or vibes-only.
get seated with your people
At Grooviq-hosted game nights, a psychology-based algorithm deals you into a recurring table of 4–6 compatible players at a public venue. Or deal yourself in: browse Open Tables and grab any empty seat.
show up & play
That's the whole move. The games break the ice, the table does the rest — and because the same table meets again, friendship gets time to grow. Nobody arrives alone twice.
turn four — pick your mode. tap one.
Our signature evenings. We host, we match: psychology-matched tables of 4–6 at public venues, on repeat. You RSVP, show up, and the seating chart already likes you.
The only mode with matching — that's the point of it.
Hosted by members, open to everyone. Browse what's on the board — Catan at a café, mahjong at a game shop — and grab any empty seat. Always at public venues.
Open to every member. Just bring curiosity.
Game night at your place — or anywhere you like — minus the group-chat chaos. Private tables never show up in public listings, and only invited guests see the location. Grooviq handles seats, RSVPs and reminders.
You choose the guest list. And the snacks.
gloating,
organized.
Every table keeps score. Spin up a private leaderboard with your crew — wins, streaks, long-standing grudges — and settle once and for all who the Catan person really is.
Visible to your crew. Invisible to everyone else. Bragging rights fully transferable at the next game night.
your turn
to host.
Anyone can run a table — hosting isn't a power-user feature, it's the whole point of a club. Pick a game. Pick a public spot — or keep it private and invite your own crew. Grooviq handles the seats, the RSVPs and the reminders. You bring the shuffle.
host a table →house rules.
Not fine print — the setup that makes sitting down with new people easy.
Every publicly listed event — Grooviq nights and Open Tables — meets at a public venue. Enforced when the event is created.
Everyone joins with an account and a phone number at signup. Grooviq is 18+ with age verification enforced.
Tables stay at 4–6 people — big enough for a game, small enough to actually talk.
Clear community guidelines, AI-assisted moderation, and in-app reporting and blocking. Every report is reviewed; breaking the rules means removal.
Grooviq is for making friends, not dating. Romantic or sexual advances mean immediate removal.
Private tables never appear in listings or search, and their location is shared only with invited guests.
